Privacy & Data Protection Policy

Last Updated: February 16, 2026

At Codergarten, we treat your data as carefully as we treat our students. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) to ensure your personal information is protected, stored securely, and used only for its intended purpose.

1. Respecting Your Privacy

Your trust is our most important asset. We are committed to transparency about how we handle information for students and their families.

2. What We Collect & Why

We only collect information that is necessary to run our STEAM programs safely and effectively:

  • Parent/Guardian Contact Info: To keep you updated on progress, session changes, and for emergency contact.
  • Student Details: Name, age, grade, and any learning or medical needs to ensure we provide the best support.
  • Media & Photos: We only take photos of students or their projects if you have provided consent during enrollment. You can withdraw this at any time.
  • Learning Progress: We track student milestones to celebrate their growth and improve our teaching.

3. Web Analytics & Software

To improve our website experience, we use Google Analytics and Umami to analyze web traffic. These tools collect anonymous usage data (such as pages visited). We currently do not use any third-party CRM or enrollment software that processes your data externally.

4. Keeping It Safe

  • Security: All digital information is stored in secure, encrypted cloud environments. Physical forms are digitized and then securely destroyed.
  • Strict Access: Data is only accessible to authorized Codergarten management on a "need-to-know" basis.
  • No Selling: We never sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share anonymized, general trends with partners to help improve STEAM education, but no names or contact details are ever included.
  • Retention: We keep records for 7 years to meet legal, tax, and child safety requirements, after which data is securely deleted.

5. Your Control

You have the right to:

  • Request to see the personal information we hold.
  • Update or correct your details.
  • Request that your data be deleted (subject to our 7-year legal retention requirements).
  • Opt-out of media use at any time.
