Our Story

It all started with a simple notion.

"Codergarten began with a simple notion: kids can learn coding, STEM, and complex concepts—if we give them the right support."

So in 2016, with the help of amazing people and organisations, we started—one messy, exciting, chaotic session at a time. Together with kids, we made robots dance, built websites, designed apps, and discovered that learning works best when it’s explicitly taught, it’s hands-on, creative, and fun.

Expanding Access

Through our TechLibrary initiative, we worked to bring STEM experiences to regional and rural schools across Victoria—places where access to tools and support wasn’t always guaranteed.

So we thought: why not lend a hand… and some really cool STEM kits too!

A Pause, Then Perspective

After more than 130 sessions, life had other plans. Our first child arrived in 2019, followed by COVID, and later our second one in 2023. Like many families, life became beautifully busy—and gave us a new perspective on learning.

The Relaunch

In 2026, after many conversations, we relaunched Codergarten with a clearer purpose and a stronger structure.

As parents of a 6- and 3-year-old, we’ve never been more convinced that this work matters.

What We Do Now

Today, Codergarten designs and delivers integrated learning experiences for children, in partnership with local communities, small businesses and industry professionals. We work closely with industry professionals to co-design our courses, ensuring that what children learn is not only engaging, but also relevant and meaningful.

Our programs go beyond coding. We connect STEM with real-world ideas—whether it’s data through ice cream, science through cooking, or problem-solving through design—because learning, like our world, is beautifully interconnected.
